Wall Street
I worked on Wall Street, briefly, so it was natural that it should be my first area of journalistic specialization. My opinions on Wall Street and Wall Streeters are all over the map. I used to think finance served a core function in our society; today, not so much. When it comes to the people, well, they’re people—some are good people, some not so much. My second book, Last Man Standing, was a biography of JPMorgan Chase chairman and CEO Jamie Dimon. Jamie is quite the character; he is also one of the favorite bogeymen of choice for those who would seek to blame their problems on someone else. I like Jamie, I always have, and still do. I think he’s a good man.
